It is completely unphilharmonic and casual when Daniel Ottensamer slips into the role of the "Philharmonix" with his philharmonic colleagues from Vienna and Berlin. Above all, they want one thing: to ignite. In addition, they transform melodies from all over the world into their "sound". Ödön Rácz, solo bassist of the Vienna Philharmonic, gets going, and the others have to keep up, in the boundless Balkan-Viennese style mix. Johannes Brahms would have enjoyed it, because in his day his clarinet quintet was not played as civilized as it is today. In Stephan Koncz's Transsylvanian Dances, there was no place for him anymore.

The styriarte 2019 will go with its guests to (Ovid's) "Transformations" and draw its motto from the highlight of the festival, the opera "Dafne in Lauro" by the most important Austrian baroque master Johann Joseph Fux.
The styriarte, the Styrian festival for classical music, celebrates transformation, change and variation in 2019. In 2019, what makes our lives exciting will flow through a festival of 32 projects with a total of 45 performances.
