Operetta by Franz Lehár

With “The Blue Mazur” we present a Lehár operetta that has never been performed in Bad Ischl in the long history of the festival.

The Viennese Countess Blanka von Lossin is unhappily married to the Polish Count Olinski, who shows too much interest in a dancer. But it is precisely the dance that will bring the couple back together, because when Julian Olinski renounces his exuberant past life, he challenges his wife Blanka to the "Blue Mazur", thereby proving that his heart belongs to her alone.

Look forward to classic waltz melodies, lively buffo duets and, of course, lively dance rhythms, as the mazurka gave the operetta its name.

Synopsis

The operetta takes place in Poland and deals with the initially unfortunate marriage of the Viennese Countess Blanka von Lossin with the Polish Count Olinski. Because of her husband's unfaithfulness, his wife leaves him and initially seeks her luck elsewhere. In the end, both spouses realize that they belong together.

The THEATRE HALL offers an unusual and elegant setting with professional infrastructure for conventions, presentations, galas and cultural performances.
Here, what appears to be impossible is made possible. The technical equipment of the hall knows no boundaries, but opens up new perspectives for each event. Depending on the way in which the seats are arranged, it can accomodate up to 900 guests.
The available light and sound techniques meet the highest demands. The stage with its sinkable orchestra pit keeps all possibilities open and offers a flexible use of the room. Loading lines are kept short via the back-stage. The hall itself is representatively and stylishly decorated. Steps in the second half of the hall guarantee an open view to the stage.
